This 12-day Uganda safari offers a rich blend of wildlife, culture, and scenic landscapes, beginning in Entebbe, passing through the savannahs of Lake Mburo National Park, and ending at the tranquil beauty of Lake Bunyonyi.
The journey features immersive cultural experiences with the Bakiga community and breathtaking drives through the highlands of southwestern Uganda. A highlight is gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, complemented by encounters with tree-climbing lions in Ishasha. It concludes with thrilling game drives, chimpanzee tracking, and a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Tour Plan

Upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will meet your guide, who will transfer you to your hotel to relax as you get ready for the safari the next day. While at the Hotel, you may opt for a city walk around Entebbe or Kampala Capital City. Transport will be provided.

You will begin your day early in the morning and then drive from Kampala to Lake Mburo to enjoy the zebra destination. We have a stopover at the equator and will be able to take photos and conduct experiments. After that, we shall continue driving past the town of Masaka. We shall reach the park and then drive out to the large Savannah dotted with acacia and shrubs, where you will be viewing topis, zebras, warthogs, impalas, as well as buffalo. You will then check in at the lodge.

Wake up early for your nature walk in the park to visit the hyenas' den and get a chance to see waterbucks, zebras, birds, buffalo, and the daybreak forest life! After the walk, return to the lodge for breakfast, then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi as the target destination. This is a lake at 1800m above sea level in an area with superb views, with small resident and exotic bird species singing. This is the coolest area in Uganda, with temperatures below 10 °C on some nights.

You will enjoy a free day by the lake, with options like swimming, canoeing, and visiting the Islands. The other optional activity can be hiking the Bushara trail along the lake shores. Go back to the lodge and relax, and in the afternoon, have a canoe ride to the small resident and the exotic bird species that sing. You can also mix with the locals or relax with the orphan performers.

We will start the day with an early-morning game drive, when many animals are still on the move during the cool part of the day. On a good day, you could see lions, buffalo, elephants, antelopes, the elusive bush pig, and you might even be lucky to spot a leopard! Hippos, buffalo, crocodiles, and many species of birds can be spotted during the afternoon boat trip on the Kazinga Channel
